Program Goals
The FSSD’s vision statement of “Excellence in Teaching and Learning for All” applies to the MAC Program, which endeavors to be the best program that it can be.
One goal of the MAC Program is to give all children the same opportunities. One way this is accomplished is by offering enrichment classes and field trips at no extra charge. MAC also provides free tutoring and homework help to any child who attends. Grants are sought so that every child in the district has the opportunity to attend. For the past few years, MAC has also been awarded aLottery for Education in After School Programs (LEAPS) Grant, which helps fund after-school care for low-income students in five FSSD schools. Grant programs enable students to receive academic tutoring, enrichment activities, healthy snacks, social connections with other children outside of the school day, and a safe and caring environment. If you are interested in applying for tuition assistance through the LEAPS grant, please contact the phone numbers below. Eligible students must be on free and reduced lunch, or be referred to the program by a building principal or school counselor.
Mission
The mission of the Franklin Special School District Before and Afternoon (MAC) Program is to effectively use school facilities to provide a safe, enriching, and fun place for all students of the district to enjoy during times when school is not in session
