What happens when your refund is under review? ›

The IRS will attempt to verify whatever information triggered the review. In the meantime, you won't be issued a refund if you're expecting one. If you owe taxes, you will still need to pay by the tax filing deadline to avoid a penalty.

TPG does not hold refunds. Generally speaking, once a tax refund leaves the IRS, whether electronically or by paper check, the IRS no longer has anything to do with the refund and would not ordinarly request an already disbursed refund check to be sent back to the IRS from a third party provider.

Funds are disbursed immediately upon IRS or state funding, reaching your bank account in 1-2 business days.

Explanation: If you have received a deposit from TPG Products SBTPG LLC, it likely means that you have recently filed a tax return and have chosen to receive your tax refund via a product offered by Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG).

We issue most refunds in less than 21 calendar days. However, if you mailed your return and expect a refund, it could take four weeks or more to process your return.

The most convenient way to check on a tax refund is by using the Where's My Refund? tool on IRS.gov. Taxpayers can start checking their refund status within 24 hours after the IRS acknowledges receipt of the taxpayer's e-filed return.

A refund is when a credit on your TPG account is returned to your nominated bank account or credit card. You can ask for a credit on your TPG account to be refunded by calling us on 13 14 23. If you close your TPG account and your final invoice is in credit, the credit will be refunded.

When IRS or state tax funding has been received, TPG releases the funds starting at 2:30 PM Pacific time. It can take an additional 1-2 hours to process and for the disbursem*nt records to reach your tax software.

We're holding your refund until we receive the information requested from you to determine your reported income is correct. If the information supports your return, we'll release your refund.

If you log into our taxpayer website to view the status of your Refund Transfer, and the Refund Status displayed is "Funded" this means that we have received your Federal and/or state tax refund(s).

Does SBTPG send checks? ›

Checks issued after Oct. 31 are printed by Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (sbtpg) and mailed via USPS regular mail to the address provided on your client's tax return.

Pay-by-Refunds offered by TPG, a Green Dot Company, are deposit products using Civista Bank, Member FDIC, that enable certain deductions from the account to be processed.

In certain cases, your bank may reject your tax refund proceeds with a code that requires us to return your funds to the originator (IRS). Due to laws that govern electronic payments, we cannot refuse to honor the instructions from your bank or intervene on your behalf.

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

Unreported income

The IRS receives copies of your W-2s and 1099s, and their systems automatically compare this data to the amounts you report on your tax return. A discrepancy, such as a 1099 that isn't reported on your return, could trigger further review.
